show Abstracthide AbstractWe investigated the presence of Vibrio cholerae (V. cholerae) in water, zooplankton, and fish along the Lake Kivu coast near the Ishungu peninsula and the Ibindja island in the Katana district, South-Kivu province, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) from April to December 2021. Conventional microbiological methods and molecular methods, including PCR and whole-genome sequencing (WGS), confirmed the presence of V. cholerae O1 AFR10e and V. cholerae non-O1/non-O139 in zooplankton sampled.
